The Challenge
Paladini, a pioneering Argentine company founded in 1923, specializes in the production and marketing of deli meats, sausages, beef and pork cuts, chorizos, hamburgers, pastas, breaded chicken, soy milanesa, cheeses, and potatoes.
In 2022, Paladini faced a problem with its wastewater transport system for agricultural irrigation. The existing PVC pipe, essential for transporting a mix of water and pig slurry (a type of manure generated in livestock farming), had a major issue: 50% of the pipe was blocked. This flow limitation, combined with a mix of feces, urine, straw, cleaning water, and other elements, highlighted the need for a
robust, efficient, and reliable solution.
The Solution
After careful consideration, a 160 mm Pexgol pipe, with a length of approximately 525 feet, was chosen to replace the existing PVC line. The decision was based on several compelling advantages offered by the PE-X piping system from Pexgol:
- Quick Installation: Although unrolling the pipe reel posed some challenges during the process, the inherent benefits of the Pexgol piping system ensured that pipe installation was even quicker than many traditional alternatives.
- Flexibility: The flexibility of the material allowed for easy adaptation to the terrain and existing infrastructure.
- Extended Sections: The ability to provide long, uninterrupted sections minimized connection points, reducing potential leaks or failure points.
- Longevity: Pexgol pipes are known to be durable and have a long service life, ensuring that Paladini’s investment would endure over time and the harsh conditions of wastewater transport.
For the installation, the Double Mechanical Connector was used, further ensuring the efficiency and reliability of the system.
The transition to the Pexgol piping system allowed Paladini to ensure a smooth and efficient wastewater transport process for their agricultural irrigation. With improved flow and reduced blockages in the pipe, Paladini was able to continue its operations without interruptions, highlighting the unparalleled reliability of Pexgol in industrial applications.
