The Challenge

The mining company Zaldivar SPA (Barrick) needed to implement a line of drinking water from the storage pond to the camp sector, crossing the entire mining site. Two thirds of the layout required a pressure of 24 and 30 bar, using the minimum amount of joints possible and in the shortest time conceivable.

Pexgol Solution

It was decided to install 9500 m of Pexgol pipe due to its advantages:

  • High pressure resistance (24 and 30 bar)
  • Supply in long lengths (sections of up to 600 meters) minimizing assembly time and number of joints.
  • Resistance to mechanical stresses due to pipe dragging in hard to reach areas.

The installation was simple, fast and safe. Without resources or special tools, shortening the known assembly program with HDPE pipes.
